I walked outside today to the most amazing image I have ever seen. This picture offers no justice to the rainbow that was right in front of my house. It was so bright and you could distinquish every color (ROYGBIV - 6th grade science). I couldn't even get it all into my camera. It was a perfect arc. It is the first time that Rylan has ever seen a rainbow. He was in awe. I feel like today was a wonderful reminder of God's promises in our lives.

I love to use this website to look up scripture, see different translations, and browse the bible.
We got an email about a serial killer who used crying babies outside of womens homes to lure them outside. We decided to use the SNOPES website to find out if this is an urban legend. Well, it is. This is a fun website to play around on.
I feel like we live in a world that rarely is in awe. I know that I have become callused to God's promises. After the miracle in the sky, I felt that I needed a reminder. Here is what I found for inspiration.
8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth."
12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God[a]; trust also in me. 2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
2 Timothy 4
3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
What's the fashion scoop
Fall fashion goes back to the '80s
Lauri Githens HatchStaff writer
(September 21, 2006) — And you thought you could gather up all your old long tunics and sweaters, stuff them away with your Mr. Mister and Huey Lewis albums, and declare the '80s over.
Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over until fashionistas decide it is. And in case you haven't shopped lately, those '80s tunics and sweaters are back — some are even cowl-necked, for Pete's sake.
But that's OK. If memory serves, they covered up a lot, didn't they? It's what they're being paired with that is causing screaming fits in dressing rooms: Leggings and straight-legged stovepipe or "cigarette" jeans. Which, if memory again serves, covered up squat.
Here's how fashion mags are advising nonmodels (Read: most women) to wear the look without tears:
Unless you're built like Elle Macpherson, avoid ultra-straight ankle-huggers. Most labels, especially the better ones, will offer a pant that is straight but long, and roomy enough through the calf and ankle to maintain the narrow look but not cut off your circulation or pride.
If you can't pull off the Audrey Hepburn thing (black skinny pants, pale socks, black flatties), and need some heel to add length to your legs, matching your knee-highs or trouser socks to your pants adds a few inches of unbroken color.
Wider hips do better in low-rise pants, to draw the eye away from fullness in the seat and toward the leg. Get as plain a pair as you can find.
Your legs look skinniest in leggings and straight pants if the hem of your tunic or sweater grazes you at mid-thigh.
This, too, shall pass.
PS Does this mean that we get to wear BIG hair? I can do that!
I feel blessed to be a christian. I am so thankful for all of the people in my life who have shown me Jesus working in their lives. I am thankful for the everyday miracles. Most importantly I feel blessed to know that this world is not my home because Jesus promised his return.
So that's all from this day in the life of mommysmart.
