Thoughts

Today I am thinking about the amount of waste in my life. From the smallest things like the amount of paper plates that we use to the big stuff like how much time we waste doing unimportant stuff. Today I have been halloween costume shopping and I am getting frustrated. They are so expensive. Then I think about how much my kids love dressing up and trick-or-treating. So then comes the question...is this "waste" or one of those "memory worth while" things. I am also struggling with the every looming holiday season that is just around the corner. I am thinking about not buying toys this year, but doing things with the kids and making a scrapbook (the fun of Christmas 2006). There are so many great things to do in our area. The train ride that is set up like the Polar Express, the museums, the IMAX, driving to see other's christmas lights, plays/musicals, and so much more. Please share your ideas.

INSPIRATION

My mother-in-law sent me this poem and I love it. I think that it is very fitting to how I am feeling today.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

Blessings

I feel blessed for the gift of time. I hope that today I will value every minute that I have with the ones that I love. I am so thankful for the blessing to stay home to be with my children and my niece. I am so blessed to have time to talk to friends on the phone. I am thankful for the time that I have with my family.

Ecclesiastes 3
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.
A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.
A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to be silent and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.

So that's all from this day in the life of mommysmart!

The Modern Art Museum in Ft. Worth has free admission on the first Sunday of every month. They give your kids little books to draw in while you walk through the museum. My girls love it! How about making their costumes, if you need help let me know, I'm full of it! haha Stacy H.
