I got this from my mother-in-law today and it has a very powerful message.
An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman hit the roof--and the horn--screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed and placed in a holding cell.
After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk.

I love that. I heard one also about a preacher that noticed one of the church members behind him at a traffic light. When the light turned green instead of moving, he sat still watching the reaction of this Christian behind him. I can't remember what happened but I always think of that when I'm at a stop sign (or light) and the people in front of me aren't moving.
People are watching to see if we are who we claim we are.
Good post. Thanks.
Paula,
Thanks for stopping by the mommyblog. I have to agree with you, I don't think that I will feel the same frustration about red lights ever again.
Blessings,
Monica
Have you ever heard of the disease, "Wal-Martitiss"? It is what comes over the most patient of people when they deal with all the stress and anxiety that a busy Wal-Mart has to offer. I have seen many demons come out of Christian people that I still try to respect after a run in with a Wal-Mart associate. Accountability is a great way to stop these demons.
I enjoyed stopping by your site today. Trey is a long time friend of my husbands and we found your site through him.

I had heard something similar before. Everytime I hear it, I am reminded that it doesn't matter so much what I call myself as how I live Jesus. Our lives have to be the evidence.
I have visited your blog before and always enjoy it.
Peace,
Neva
She needed to be arrested! That'll teach her.
Ha
Trey,
You are right or at least if you know you have road rage, leave the bumper stickers at home. Ha Ha
No really, we should hope that we are recognized as his without the "decorations".
