Well, you asked!

Last night at dinner we were having the parent-encouraged-conversation (you know the one where the kids are eating so fast that they are barely breathing so you have to ask thought provoking questions so that they don't pass out). Dinner is usually the same two *what was your favorite part of the day* and *what did you learn today*. Breakfast is always just *what are you thankful for today*. Being CRAZY like we are not, we decided to shake it up a bit and ask *if you could live anywhere in Texas (when Daddy's a football coach you only ask about Texas not World) where would you live*.

Ashlynn thought for a bit and radomly answered AUSTIN. I have no idea why she would want to live there, but there was of course no wrong answer to our "little question".

Now Rylan's eyes lit up (that is what a light bulb moment must look like) and we thought we were about to have a very profound answer from him. He said, "my friend is named Austin and I want to live with him, too, 'cause I like Austin and he is my friend."

I wonder how Austin's mom would feel about us all moving in?

I think that we will stick to the more predictable questions from now on.

I can't believe they didn't want to live at Estelline..... It was great to see you this weekend.

That's hilarious! We have a friend named Austin too. That would crack me up if one of the kids said he wanted to live with Austin's family.

I bet Austin asked his mom, "Is there a place called Rylan, TX?"
:)

Peace,
Neva

Stachia,

Estelline is a tempting suggestion.

Lisa,

I think that there must be a million Austin's around here.

Neva,

I like that, Rylan, TX. Kind of has a ring about it.

Trey,

I'll take your word on the "fun" in Austin. It's not my favorite.

Kids are so great!

I got this comment via email from my mother-in-law and wanted to share:

As I read little Rylan's comments, “my friend is named Austin and I want to live with him, too, 'cause I like Austin and he is my friend.” it dawned on me how simple this truth is. When asked about death, we should answer like this young man, "my friend is named JESUS, and I want to live with him cause I love Jesus and he is my friend" Luke 18:17 "Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein." Thru the hearts and eyes of children we learn so much.
