Oldie but goodie

~ Ravindra Kumar Karnani

(This poem was originally written in the Hindi language.)

The child whispered, 'God, speak to me'

And a meadow lark sang.

The child did not hear.

So the child yelled, 'God, speak to me!'

And the thunder rolled across the sky

But the child did not listen.

The child looked around and said,

'God let me see you' and a star shone brightly

But the child did not notice.

And the child shouted, 'God show me a miracle!'

And a life was born but

the child did not know.

So the child cried out in despair,

'Touch me God, and let me know you are here!'

Whereupon God reached down

And touched the child.
But the child brushed the butterfly away

And walked away unknowingly.

Where will you encounter God today?

This poem is so sweet. It is so perfect for children to learn.I am a fellow CWO member and just stumbled on your blog. I felt that I wanted to comment after reading what you said on the sidebar about what you believe. It so reflects what I believe also. I see we have similar interests.
Your tribute to your mom was wonderful.
I'll be coming back to visit from time to time and invite you to visit me as well.

That is a great side bar about what you believe. Infact, you are a very gifted blogger in general. Maybe you are how I experienced God today!

Monica,
I work at a nursing home and I am blessed to get to experience God everyday. Today, I got a double blessing, I heard of an elder truly shepherding his flock, with tears in his eyes, looking out for them, advising them to make good decisions. Pretty cool--God--He is everywhere and when we open our eyes we get to see Him everyday.
Peace

Hey Kathy,

Thanks for reading my sidebar. I went through a period of tremendous growth about 6 months ago and stopped living on borrowed faith. I prayed and soul searced for what I believed. I leave that on my sidebar to remind myself of what God showed me during that time.

Neva,

That is a beautiful experience that you had. I think that it is easier to see God in the eyes of children and older folks. You are blessed daily!

Have a great day!
