Here is another teacher gift idea. It seems that I am a bit consumed with chocolate bars this year, but most everyone likes chocolate. I bought a software program that makes wrappers for candy bars. You choose your own design and then type in your text.
This one is the 5oz size and on the front it says, A good teacher is one who can understand those who are not very good at explaining and explain to those who are not very good at understanding. Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The back says, Thank you for all of your explaining and understanding with Rylan this year. We love and appreciate you! The Smart Family.
This is the time of the year that I seem to be very aware of appreciation. We are wrapping up the year with the kids and and their teachers and we get the oppurtunity to let them know how much their time and attention to our kids has been appreciated. Rick even mentioned a story about Abe Lincoln in our sermon on Sunday while addressing the tendency of members to complain and expect from the church(this is a great sermon for all of you preachers to hear). The story goes like this..... In the days of Abe Lincoln, citizens were able to come and go in the white house with ease. One day a woman came with cookies. President Lincoln greeted her and asked what he could do for her. She told him that she expected nothing from him, she just wanted to bring him cookies. Rarely did a citizen appreciate the president without needing something in return. So maybe it is cookies, or a phone call, or a prayer, but I am going to strive to appreciate better!

BTW, I think you have a really cool last name... the Smart family.
I had a newspaper column once and the best I could do was 'A Dare to Live Better'

Monica is the smartest of all the Smart. She's the brightest and kindest too.

Well, as Rocky would say, I had to get married to be smart!
