A Devastating Loss

Last night around 7:30 pm while working on my college homework, we lost power. Frustrated with my loss of work, we decided to make a trip to get some things from the grocery store. As we drove out of town we noticed that all of town had no electricity.

Just ahead we noticed a fire and several emergency vehicles. We assumed that must be the reason for our power outage. Just as we were leaving the grocery store, Rocky got a call from another coach telling him that there had been an accident and that 6 kids were being taken to the hospital. We went straight over and Rocky found out that there were in fact two kids from his team there.

Sadly, there was a life lost. He was a graduate of 2007 and brother to one of the others in the hospital. Our town is grieving and I ask you for your prayers for the kids in Nazareth. As in most small towns, everyone is like a giant family and this community just lost a member.

Oh, Monica, this is so sad. My sympathies to you and your husband and your whole town. I hope this loss of life will cause many to look to the Lord.

My dear friend,
I am lifting you up to God. I am so sorry for the devastating loss your town is facing. I am however, grateful that you and Rocky moved there when you did. God could have no better ministering out His comfort and His love.
Peace and prayers my sister

Monica, My heart grieves for you and the town. Last week in our little town of 1,800 we had a brutal murder. As you stated,” as in most small towns, everyone is like a giant family and this community just lost a member" tragically.

We heard last night of the loss and more about it this morning. We know how this affects little towns. Just wanted you to know I am praying for you and Naz.

Monica dear,
Our mutual dearly loved sister, Neva gave a link to your blog. God does work out His timing in our lives! My heart aches for y'all!

Our church family suffered this same type of loss January 17, 2005. One young child was killed in the rollover accident and several others injured. Included in the injured were three preteen boys and one girl that spent the next year recovering physically and emotionally. One boy's recovery is still going on, but his smashed leg has been saved, PTL!

My heart's prayers go out to all of you as you grieve, recover and finally are able to again rejoice.
