Drum roll please.......

Coach of the Year: Rocky Smart, Nazareth
In first job as a head coach, he led the Swifts to a 12-2 record as they advanced to the Class 1A Division II state quarterfinals. After an opening loss, the Swifts won 12 in a row.
Rocky was honored by the Amarillo Globe News on Christmas Day as the 1A coach of the year. You can read about him and five of his players here. Because he is too humble to tell his friends, I decided to brag on him myself. We are so thankful that God led us to Nazareth and we love those SWIFTS! As Rocky would say, "I am blessed to have coached such a great group of young men."

As I look upon this, I am humbled and all I can say is thank you Jesus. The baby that doctors said would never be normal; survived and has excelled in all the gifts God bestowed upon him. Rock’s life is a testimony that God does hear and answer prayer and much more. God has been the Potter and Rocky the clay as He saved him from a horrifying future and has molded him for his glory. Praise Jesus. Rocky's Mom

I thought the news story was great. I was proud to show my parents who live in Amarillo and say, "I know that guy. He's my friend."

Congrats.
