Should a homeless man have a homeless dog?

Keith (my brother) and Stephanie (his fiance) were driving yesterday and noticed a homeless man with his dog. Here is how the conversation went.....

Stephanie ---- “I love it when they have dogs. It gives them some company.”

Keith---- “That’s ridiculous, if you don’t have a home why should you have a dog? I mean I’m sure the dog doesn’t want to be homeless.”

As you can see, Keith is the sensitive one in this relationship.
So what is your opinion?

In our town, there is a man, I presume to be homeless. You will see him walking on the busiest commercial street, with his dog, daily. I recently noticed that he has a different dog now. So I've thought about this before. A dog brings a great deal of joy to humans - that is their job. And most dogs would love the freedom of not being cooped up in a house. Be thankful he has a companion in that dog. Maybe the dog was homeless first.....and they found each other for companionship.

I was thinking that too, that maybe the dog was a stray. So they are companionship for each other. I notice that the dog looks pretty healthy. He (the dog) is probably making out better than my neighbors' dogs. None of my neighbors take care of their dogs, either leave them cooped up in a crate most of the time or tied on a leash all day. Hit and miss whether they get food and water in all kinds of weather. I hope this man and dog are a comfort to each other. I'll say a prayer for them. May someone reach this man with the gospel.

Now you should have known a dogcatcher would step in, but if the man has the dog.......the dog isn't really homeless. Science proves animals bring an unknown joy and healing spirit to humans. Dog is God spelled in reverse.

Well it looks like everyone agrees, dogs are great pets even for the homeless.
