Cancer

According to an article in USA Today, about one in 26 Americans have had cancer. By 2020, roughly one in 19 will have been diagnosed with the disease. There are none of us who haven't been affected by cancer for either ourselves or someone that we love.

On October 23rd Rocky's mom called because they found cancer in her gallbladder after her surgery to remove it. Anytime you get that kind of news from someone that you love you find your mind swimming in a circle of questions and worry. Last week she had another surgery to look for any trace of more cancer. Thankfully everything came back clear. She will still have to have radiation and chemo for the next few weeks, but it looks like she is on her way to winning the fight. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and please continue to remember her and all cancer patients.

What Cancer Cannot Do

Cancer is so limited...

It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Having gone through it with my dad, I can tell you it really puts things into perspective. Take care of yourself and tell the ones you love - you love them every time you can. Love ya! S

I love the poem of what Cancer Can't Do. Cancer didn't stop a little boy from growing up to play football as a Bobcat, he is just a little slower than everyone. Hang in there, and know that ya'll are in our prayers and if there is anything we can do or that the American Cancer Society can do just let me know.
Love ya, Stachia
